In Virginia, Minnesota May 19th, 1942 citizens donated things like pots, pans keys and coffee pots to make airplanes for the war. It was called "pots for planes."
Women got to work in the iron mines for the first time during the war because lots of the miners went into the service.
Lots of people from Virginia were in the war. Some didn't come home alive. They are buried in the cemetery by Olcott Park.
