"L" is for many Locations
There were many mine Locations in Virginia. Some of them were very dangerous
for cave-ins and falling in pits were common. On the other hand mines payed very well. They also were one of the only jobs around. Most miners lived in the locations on the edge of the mine so the miners didn't have to walk very far to get to the mine.
Most location houses looked alike, because the companies didn't want to spend money designing all different houses.
"L" is also for lumberjack.
They were very common around here too. It was a common job to have. They cut forests down to be made into lumber in the city of Virginia.
"L" is for Laundries.
Women washed clothes at Laundries in the city Virginia. These stores were places to get your clothes washed if you didn't want to do it at home. Women would worked there to get money, because there weren't to many jobs for them back then. Even now Virginia laundries, Mining, and Lumbering. But today we don't live on the edge of the mines. "Duh!"
